Our first and probably most anticipated stop was the island of Kadidiri, one of the many islands that form the Togian islands. Togian islands is located in central Sulawesi - part of Indonesia. Getting to Togian islands from Sweden requires som planning. From Jakarta, Surabaya or Bali it takes at least 2 domestic flights to get to the city Ampana, south of the Togians, from where there are boats to Wakai, the main village in the Togians. You can also reach Wakai from Gorantalo, north of the Togians, from where there is an overnight ferry. The speedboats from Ampana only takes one and a half hour which was the main reason for us choosing Ampana as a our gateway to the Togian islands. There is a daily flight (Wings air) from Palu to Ampana. Most domestic airlines like Wings, Lion air etc. do not accept foreign credit cards which forces you to go through travel agencies like Tiket.com or Traveloka. They have worked very well though, much better than the airlines websites which are terribly outdated and slow (except Garuda).

The main reason for us to visit Togians was for scuba diving. Frida and Moa had started a dive course in Sweden and done all the pool dives and theory and it was now time for their exam dives. We choose a resort (with their own dive center) called Harmony Bay. We hade done a lot of research before we chose Harmony Bay and we did not get disappointed. The resort which is fairly new is run by a couple (Rok and Valentina) that do their outmost to keep their guests feel like home. Rok who is a dive instructor did the final stages of the dive course with Frida and Moa in the best possible way. Security was, as it should be but not always is, the main concern and the dive equipment was brand new.

Harmony Bay was a small resort, most are in Togians, with eight bungalows, a restaurant and dive center. The beach is roughly 150-200 meters long and the only way to get to the resort is by boat as there are very few roads in the Togian islands and especially not on the very small island of Kadidiri. It is truly a paradise! It's one of the few places we have been that we felt very very sad leaving and wanted to go back to as soon as possible.
